Cottage, 1936

An L-shaped house with a moderately sloped gable roof, the cottage was constructed in 1936. The roof is covered with composition shingle, has clipped eaves and gables and exhibits a vertically emphasized, decorative attic vent at the apex of the front facing able. Fenestration consists of double hung, multi-light cottage style windows, which are paired on the front facade. The building is clad with clapboard. The porch entry is a small concrete stoop covered by a projecting gable roofed pediment supported on cylindrical columns. The porch roof is furnished with a plain facia with a return. Although minimally embellished, the few decorative details which include the porch pediment and columns, the cottage style windows, and the roof elevation are suggestive of a Colonial Revival. The house retains its integtrity of design, materials, workmanship, setting, feeling and association.
