The Bentley Home
Built in 1910

This one and one half story house if a fine example of a Craftsman Bungalow and was recognized in the surveys of 1980 and 1996. It continues to embody the characteristic elements of this style, including low square massing, low pitched gable roof, wide eave and gable overhangs, bracketed dormer, spanning covered porch, multiple battered columns and clinker brick trim. It is one of the oldest houses constructed north of 5th street. the integrity of design, materials, workmanship, setting, location, feeling and association remains excellent. It has been for some time a multiple occupant dwelling with some remodeling having been done to fashion an apartment with a stairway to the top north rear (Lofland 1999)
